How a Local Veterinarian Is Benefiting From Medical Marijuana!

In this talk, a local vet describes how medical marijuana has improved her quality of life. Brandi Miles volunteered for the National Guard and ended up staying for 16 years. She was medically retired after 11 months of service in Afghanistan due to anxiety and PTSD.

Prior to trying medical marijuana, the veteran was prescribed six medicines per day to treat her problems. “Well, it was a bit of a rough go of it at first, what with all the stigma attached to marijuana plus the fact that many of us veterans carry around a lot of guilt about it.

So, I’ve really helped myself and my thinking shift away from feeling guilty about doing it because the military teaches you that it’s wrong. With the support of dispensary staff and care specialists, Miles was able to reframe marijuana use in a more positive light.

The care consultants at Bee’s Buds are especially proud of the fact that they consistently receive positive feedback from customers about their time spent in the store and the quality of service they received. Bill Wilson, the joint’s co-owner and head budtender, put it best: “So, we really really just try to have a smile and create a nice vibe to everyone that walks in.”

Guests should feel at ease here. Please don’t take any of this as bad news; on the contrary, we want you to take full use of every part of it. According to an interview with News 25, Miles said the medication she took was “life-changing” for her and that she hopes other veterans will give it a try.

It’s completely changed the way I do things. In combination with life coaching, cannabis has been my savior. As a result, I was able to make the change more smoothly. In the last two years, I’ve shed 80 pounds solely by stopping all the medicines and other harmful substances I was using. Plus, it’s helped me gain a broader perspective on the world and my place in it. And now, because it helped me so much, I’m working to ensure that other veterans have the same opportunities.
