Cannabis perception appears to vary from person to person and from year to year. Years of false information and covert racism have resulted in the demonization of a plant, but new research is revealing what many of our ancestors intuitively knew all along: the humble cannabis plant is packed with many advantages.
Jamaican-born Keri-Ann Evans, who resides in Miami, is a fervent supporter of the plant and an active participant in the cannabis industry in both the United States and the Caribbean. She is the founder of Kreative Kush.
a company that manufactures cannabis ancillary products and provides both small and large-scale businesses with the branding and packaging they need to stand out in a society that is becoming more accepting of cannabis use. For Caribbean people to participate in the industry and be taken seriously on the international stage, according to Evans,
Legalization and Decriminalization
She claims that numerous dispensaries have opened across North America and the Caribbean as a result of the decriminalization of cannabis use in many jurisdictions and the outright legalization of it in others. The research is not as advanced as it could be because there is still decades’ worth of legal challenges to overcome and because the pandemic halted much of the research.
CBD and Marijuana
Keri-Ann Evans claims that we are still in the midst of a cannabis boom. Consequently, it’s crucial to be familiar with key industry jargon. For instance, many people mistakenly believe that the terms CBD and cannabis are interchangeable.
Evans points out that this is untrue. A substance called CBD can be found in cannabis plants. Additionally, there are two main categories for the cannabis plant: Marijuana and hemp. The stigmatized plant is marijuana.
It contains more than 0.3% THC, the psychoactive component of cannabis that most people associate with a good time. Less than 0.3% THC is present in hemp, which is primarily CBD. In contrast to THC, CBD is a different molecule that offers many of the same advantages without the “high.”
Advantages of CBD
According to Evans, using CBD has advantages in treating epilepsy and seizures as well as anxiety, sleep difficulties, and discomfort. The benefits of CBD and cannabis are still being studied. Before considering using CBD products as a treatment for any disease, Evans advises speaking with your doctor.
